Shortstuff : sorry for the long absence, been busy with studies and Battlefield :D

A lot of people including your friends have a really screwed up concept of the word HELP. It’s a pretty strong word considering they made a college out of it. Princeton says it’s the need of assistance, Wiki says it indicates distress, Windows says it’s a program meant to help you when you don’t know what to click or ‘how to command the demon to attack the opponent’s village" but nowhere have I found a definition that says it means to obtain assistance in the form of a deed in a short period of time.

Today evening at like 5.40, I got a call from a friend who wanted me to help him fix his computer that had a little hiccup to it and yes, though it is a small problem I was preoccupied until night time. Had to buy food for buka, tuition, etc, but this friend of mine, let’s call him Sam, he is a very irritating and stubborn fella, y’get what I’m saying? He insists on me fixing it anyway and so I made it very clear upon him that I will try, but I can’t promise it’ll be done by today. And that I want him to leave the rig by my postbox. And that I will call him when I’m done, it may be at midnight. AND I told him to not call me.

Of course, the gods could have predicted it, he agreed anyway but what pisses me off right now is he keeps bugging me through MSN, SMS asking me when am I going to give it back. DAMN IT! This isn’t how it’s supposed to be! I agreed to help and you should be lucky that I did, but he just wouldn’t cut it out! I had to halt everything I was doing at the time, at close to midnight, stop studying, stop watching TV, stop eating blah blah blah and I literally picked myself up from the inside out and worked on the system until it got done.

I don’t know if it’s actually done or not, but I just sought to the least crumbersome solution and patched things up, lugged it down the stairs in the darkness, grabbed my bike keys and head out directed to his home without my license and ID, helmet. Basically I only had the clothes on my back and my sandal and when I arrived I just set it down outside the gate, gave the area a long horn and left.

Sam has a reputation for not thanking people after they oblige to helping him. It’s like he can walk into anyone’s home and ask for help and leave like he just signed the contract for buying that specific house over.

This ISN’T HELP! I did not HELP Sam! Help is when we are in a win-win situation and I don’t have to go out at night just so someone else can be happy! People don’t appreciate enough of the world these days, and nobody takes into account what the good guys do to keep the dumb guys happy. Considering the petrol I had to burn and cat shit I had to sniff, I was definetly more than unhappy to help Sam out.

I’m just saying, friends aren’t supposed to be this way. What Sam did wasn’t an act of gratitude yea? When you ask for help, what more when it’s conplimentary help when I not charge you a single cent for it, don’t you think it’s better to just wait until the person you ask is able to help you out and that it’s not troubling him/her? Malaysians always have this default feature in them. They like to include the phrase "…but if busy no need la.." everytime they want your willingness to help them out.

I just wish they could say it like they mean it because it’s always when after you say no, then they’ll turn into a flower boy and pout or something. Either that or they keep pressing you to get on it, like what Sam did to me. Sam doesn’t believe in that but-if-youre-busy shit and that is just not right.

Conclusion, would you like it if your dad’s friend came calling at night asking for to borrow some money just because he could pay the loan shark? Man, if it was me, inside I was all NO. I mean, why should we help? Does it benefit us? NO! But that’s what friends are for, and to just GET help in a situation like this it’s second to none. So please, don’t push it if you’re relying on someone to do your chores for you. Or else, find somebody else or go get a maid or something.
