I hate it when I’m faced with shitloads of reports, researches, homeworks and newspaper-articles-to-collect-cough assignments due soon. There’s probably only one thing I hate more than this, and that would be going through the same thing on a bloody raining Sunday. Rain, on a Sunday, with assignments. God, why create me in the first place?
Ok, maybe not.
But I will tell you one ugly truth though, half the time I’m always procrastinating. Sad to say, I’m the type of guy that needs to be rushed, to actually rush. So, being brimmed with iTunes, a bad dose of Need For Speed AND the urge to freaking poop, yet cannot thanks to the piles.. I just couldn’t stand living. Just doing nothing was a pain in the ass. Literally!
Friends are busy, family’s already left me thanks to the college work.. it’s almost like I was feeling emo and was about to carve myself as a result. I turn to the one thing I can always depend on, Signal. I named my car Signal thanks to a creepy dream where it could fly until it crashed into a plane with the world signal on it. Ok, shut up.
But then, it was still drizzling, I didn’t want to go through the hassle of reversing mom’s car to get Signal out you see. So I stood there, under my porch for a good 10 minutes thinking whether I want to take Signal, or the Spectra out. Driving the Spectra was such a good offer at the time I was thinking about whether I should use an umbrella or not more than the car debate. Why you ask? Simple, it’s a worry free car. I could drive it like a mini bus driver and have no worries.
So in the end, I did. Concluded with no umbrella though and just sprinted to the car parked outside and started my journey. Stopped by Curve to meet Kuah and get some stuff, then continued to head to KL for dinner with the girlfriend. There was this small problem though, since it was raining and the Spectra is a relatively tail happy car, I always found myself in a situation where when I take corners, the tail would almost loosen itself, almost skidding, but very subtly. The biggest problem is I always found myself grinning when it happens.
Fate would have it, I took the long left corner down after the UOA building near bangsar, bloody slippery brick surface if I may add. The tail loosened again, and I almost knew I wasn’t supposed to but I did. I flicked the car right, then left hard, intentionally. The tail didn’t just loosen, it damn well released itself!
Now it was a simple situation, I was facing the road I initially came from, the car is going on the right track, just not facing the right direction, and counter steering became my new girlfriend because at the time, it was all I could and wanted to do.
I swore another Spectra was passing by me on my right, or the road’s left at the time. Sign from god maybe? God Who knows. Yanked on the handbrake and steered it with not much results, luckily it stopped just before reacing any brick walls or open highways, and immediately u-turned despite the typical Malaysian 1000 people watching 0 person helping attitude of passers by. Heart still thumping, self still grinning.
Moral of the story? Don’t procrastinate, it may cost you your life. Back to the assignments..
